Open Fiber activates FTTH service in EUR 5 mln Scandicci rollout

Open Fiber has completed the cabling of its FTTH infrastructure in the first 5,000 premises in the town of Scandicci near Florence. The wholesale-only operator, which aims to bring fibre services to 17,000 homes in the locality via an investment of EUR 5 million, said the network will enable local residents to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
