Katie Holmes is already wearing the biggest trend of 2021

You could be forgiven for thinking that we’d already entered spring looking at Katie Holmes's latest outfit. Alas, we have not, but nonetheless the actor is already wearing one of the biggest trends of the coming season: wide-leg trousers. 

While out strolling the streets of New York City with her partner, Emilio Vitolo Jr, Holmes brought a hard-working wardrobe staple into the new year with her: a pair of sustainable blue-wash Jackie ultra high-rise, wide-leg jeans from Reformation. Throughout NYC’s balmy summer months and into autumn too, Holmes paired her eco-conscious wide-leg trousers with relaxed tees and insouciant checked shirts, but they still look box-fresh for the new year, after baggy pants dominated the spring/summer 2021 runways at Louis Vuitton, The Row, Tom Ford, Stella McCartney and more.  

Now, Holmes has paired them with a black polo neck and coordinating tailored blazer. As for accessories? Her new go-to Baker boy hat, her McNally Jackson Williamsburg tote and leather Aera Charli boots. As she’s proven countless times, Holmes possesses the ability to make a tried-and-tested fashion formula feel current.

Hours earlier, Holmes slipped on a tangerine hoodie, dark grey tracksuit pants and her trusty Acne Studios Perey trainers. Again, the actor has worn her new sneaks to take in the city’s sights multiple times since autumn. Holmes knows what suits her, and sticks to it.
