NEW DELHI: Congress gavelled again into session late Wednesday to renew the method of certifying Joe Biden‘s presidential election victory after a mob protesting Donald Trump’s defeat violently invaded the US Capitol and plunged Washington into chaos. Responding to the violent clashes which left one lifeless, Mayor of Washington imposed a curfew.

* Following violent clashes outdoors US Capitol Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “Distressed to see news about rioting & violence in Washington DC. Orderly and peaceful transfer of power must continue. The democratic process cannot be allowed to be subverted through unlawful protests.”
* Initially disrupted as a consequence of violent protests, Congress returned to finish the electoral rely.
* “As we reconvene in this chamber, the world will again witness the resilience and strength of our democracy,” Vice President Mike Pence stated as he reopened the Senate session. “To those who wreaked havoc in our Capitol today, you did not win. Violence never wins, freedom wins,” Pence added. “And this is still the people’s house.”
*Amidst the violent clashes by Trump supporters, one lady was shot and killed contained in the Capitol constructing within the chaos.
* Social media giants Facebook and Twitter stated they may block Donald Trump’s accounts. While Facebook stated it can impose a 24-hour ban, Twitter is to dam his account for 12 hours warning that future violations will lead to everlasting suspension.
* Former US President Barack Obama stated that the assault on US Congress is a matter of ‘nice disgrace’ however ‘not shocking’.
* Stephanie Grisham, the primary woman’s chief of employees and former White House press secretary, resigned after the violent protests within the Capitol.
