In unprecedented scenes, a charged pro-Trump mob stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday and wreaked havoc as the Congress convened to certify Joe Biden's victory in the Presidential elections.
At least four people, including a woman, died in the protest and rioting on Capitol Hill. Dozens of demonstrators were also arrested by the police.
The rioting evoked shock and disbelief across the globe, with several world leaders condemning it as an "assault on democracy".
