Odisha: Guidelines, timeline for PG spot admission out

BHUBANESWAR: The higher education department on Thursday issued guidelines and timeline for spot admission into PG courses in colleges and universities in the state for the academic session 2020-21.
The department has already conducted common PG entrance test (CPET-2020) between October 12 and October 22 last year for admission into state public universities and colleges with PG courses. After publication of the entrance test results, admission was conducted in three rounds of selection.
But some students did not get admission in first, second and third round selection. After finding some left-out seats, the government has come up with spot admission process for students who have received rank in the CPET-2020. Some students had not uploaded graduation marks before starting of the admission process due to delay in getting the certificates. But now they can take part in the spot admission process, said the guidelines.
The common application form (CAF) will be available in the student login from 11am onwards on January 9 for providing fresh options for spot admission. Deadline for providing fresh options in CAF is 2pm on January 12. Merit list will be published at 11am on January 15.
Candidates from merit list will report at their colleges or universities between January 16 and January 20. Select list out of the reported candidates will be published by 5pm on January 20. Document verification, payment and admission of the selected candidates will be held on January 21 and 22. Data of admitted students will be updated in the SAMS portal by 5pm on January 23.
If still vacancies remain, universities or colleges can contact the remaining candidates who had reported during the reporting periods and carry out the admission process by January 31. To get more information, students can contact helpline number 155335 or 18003456770.
According to the guidelines, candidates are advised to go through the university or college-wise vacant seat position and cut-off mark details at SAMS website and make judicious selection of options for admission into universities or colleges. Selection will be done on merit (career mark along with CPET mark) only.
