Covid-19 vaccine dry run to be held at 9 centres in Dakshina Kannada

MANGALURU: Health department in Dakshina Kannada is fully geared up to carry out Covid-19 vaccine dry run at nine centres in the district on Friday.
Dr B V Rajesh, reproductive and child health (RCH) officer of Dakshina Kannada told TOI that the inoculation dry run will be held at Government Wenlock District Hospital, Urban Public Health Centre (PHC) in Surathkal, Bantwal Taluk Hospital, Community Health Centre in Kadaba, PHC in Naravi, Yenepoya Medical College, Deralakatte, KVG Medical College, Sullia, Indiana Hospital and KS Hegde Medical Academy in Deralakatte.
“We have identified 25 beneficiaries each from the health sector, including doctors, nurses, drivers and others, to take part in the Covid-19 vaccine dry run at the identified centres. All guidelines related to the vaccination drive will be followed during the dry run. All beneficiaries should reach the vaccination centre by following the Covid appropriate behaviour strictly and they will be allowed to enter the centre alone. We will verify beneficiaries’ documents before they are allowed inside the vaccination room,” Dr Rajesh said.
Soon after the mock vaccination process, the beneficiaries will be directed to rest in an observation room for 30 minutes, he said. “We will also educate them about Covid appropriate behaviours to be followed after the vaccination. All norms related to the Covid-19 will be continued even after the vaccination, he said. On the first phase of vaccination drive, which is yet to be announced by the government, he said that though they have not received any specific information, the district has prepared a list of 39,715 beneficiaries from the health sector.
