Ind vs Aus 3rd Test: Fox and Seven commentators have been forced to commentate from Melbourne due to the Sydney-Brisbane situation. The commentary teams of both the channels decided not to fly to Sydney even as CA issued a new set of guidelines for the accredited media.
“If you have any kind of symptoms, please do the right thing and stay home and get tested,” the Cricket Australia said in its advisory.
Foxtel has made two commentary teams for the SCG test. While Brett Lee will be taking care of business from Sydney, Shane Warne will be in his hometown, Melbourne.
“For the Third Test, we will have a team in Sydney and other in Melbourne,” Fox Sports Australia spokesperson told Mumbai Mirror.
Seven, a free to air channel unlike Fox, has kept its commentary panel in Melbourne. All the commentators — Ricky Ponting, Sunil Gavaskar, Michael Slater, Damien Fleming, Simon Katich, and Greg Blewitt — will be taking the proceeding from Melbourne studios.
This way, the commentary panel will have an easy access to Brisbane. According to local health rules, those travelling from Sydney to Brisbane will have to be in 14-day quarantine —barring the two teams. Gabba will host the fourth test starting January 15.
