Congress is poised to certify Joe Biden’s election victory after lawmakers were finally able to return to the Capitol Building following an extraordinary day in which pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol building in Washington, DC.

One objection to the Electoral College vote from Arizona has already been rejected, but another from Pennsylvania was backed by at least one person in each chamber.

The Senate has already voted to accept Pennsylvania’s results and now we wait for the House’s vote.

At least four people were left dead following the riots, with one woman being fatally shot inside the US Capitol Building, while another three people died after suffering “medical emergencies” as the incident unfolded.

Congress members from across the aisle have spoken out to condemn the violence, while Democrats have placed the blame squarely on President Donald Trump’s shoulders for inciting the deadly riots.
