Maruti Suzuki has announced its production data of passenger and light commercial vehicles for December 2020. Maruti was in focus on Dalal Street during Thursday's trading session.
In December 2020, Maruti's total production increased to 155,127 units compared to 115,949 units in December 2019.
The company's passenger cars production stood at 153,475 units in the latest month compared to the production of 114,962 units in December 2019.
Under passenger cars, the highest production was in the compact segment (WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno, Dzire, OEM Model) to 85,103 units against 62,448 units in December 2019.
Utility vehicles (Gypsy, Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza, XL6, OEM Model) production stood at 28,006 units in December 2020, higher from 19,825 units in December 2019.
The company produced 1,652 units of light commercial vehicles in December 2020 versus 987 units in December 2019.
At around 10.37 am, Maruti was trading at Rs7658.10 per piece up Rs24.75 or 0.32% on Sensex. The stock has gained to an intraday high of Rs7705 per piece.
