Assam is likely to go to polls in April this year. Nitin Khade Chief Electoral Officer in a statement stated Sharma with other senior officers of the Commission will hold review meetings on preparedness for forthcoming General Elections to Assam Legislative Assembly with the District Election Officers, Superintendents of Police of twenty Election districts at Dibrugarh on January 11.

GUWAHATI: Dharmendra Sharma, Director General Election Commission of India will be visiting Assam on January 11 and 12 to review the preparedness for the assembly polls.

Assam is likely to go to polls in April this year. Nitin Khade Chief Electoral Officer in a statement stated Sharma with other senior officers of the Commission will hold review meetings on preparedness for forthcoming General Elections to Assam Legislative Assembly with the District Election Officers, Superintendents of Police of twenty Election districts at Dibrugarh on January 11.

Another review meeting will be conducted at Hotel at Guwahati on January 12 with District Election Officers, Superintendents of Police of thirty Election Districts and Nodal officers of Police, Excise, Transport and other senior officials.

The Director General, ECI will also meet Chief Secretary, Assam and other senior officers of state Government for discussion, on preparedness for forthcoming General Elections to Assam Legislative Assembly.
