Cheetahs coach Hawies Fourie has named his team for their final Currie Cup clash against Griquas in Kimberley on Saturday.

There are five changes to the starting XV which went down 31-29 to Western Province in Bloemfontein last weekend, a result which put paid to the Cheetahs' hopes of reaching the playoffs.

In the backline, Duncan Saal replaces Rhyno Smith at right wing, while Tian Meyer comes in for Ruben de Haas at scrumhalf.

In the forward pack, George Cronje starts at No 7 in place of Oupa Mohoje, Conraad van Vuuren cracks the nod ahead of Khuta Mchunu at tighthead prop and Marnus van der Merwe replaces Wilmar Arnoldi at hooker, with the latter ruled out with a jaw injury.

Prop Cameron Dawson and hooker Louis van der Westhuizen have returned from their injuries and will provide cover on the bench.

The Cheetahs are fifth on the Currie Cup log, seven points adrift of the fourth-placed Lions, while the win-less Griquas are rooted to the bottom.

Saturday's match kicks off at 16:30.
