Panic gripped shop keepers in Chennai’s Adambakkam on the early hours of Thursday as they found their shops were broken open and found items and cash kept in the shops went missing.

When they approached the cops, it was found that about eight shops in Chennai’s Adambakkam and Selayur were broken open.
In Adambakkam, three shops were broken open, and cash amount of Rs 29,000 and other items including pockets of ghee and cigarettes were stolen from the shops.
When they filed a case at the Adambakkam police station, cops recovered CCTV footages from a hardware shop, where the burglar was seen breaking the locker open and stealing the cash kept in it.
Meanwhile, in Selayur, as many as five shops were broken open and about Rs 20,000 was stolen.
