Constitutional law experts at McGeorge School of Law speak on attack on U.S. Capitol

Wednesday’s riot started as a group protesting the vote certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s November victory. Congress has a constitutional duty to accept the certified election results from all 50 states. Usually, this is just a formality that gets very little fanfare. But the process first received much more attention due to President Donald Trump’s improves claims of election fraud. The demonstrators who stormed the Capitol on Wednesday may have thought they could stand in the way of the process, but experts from the McGeorge School of Law said that wouldn’t have happened.
