Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar gets death threat

MUMBAI: An unidentified caller has been booked for threatening to kill the city mayor and Shiv Sena corporator Kishori Pednekar on Wednesday.
Pednekar received the call on December 22, while she was in her office at BMC headquarters at CSTM. After receiving multiple calls from an unknown number, she responded.
The mayor stated that some other people were present in her office when she answered the call on speaker mode.
Pednekar said, “As I received the call, the caller started to use abusive language. I was shocked, never expected that someone can use such language while talking to a woman. The caller didn’t mention any subject, just said that he was calling from Jamnagar and threatened to kill me. Others in the office requested me to take it seriously and report to the police.”
A complaint was registered with at Azad Maidan police station. The police recorded the statement of the mayor and those present in her office when she received the call. They are inquiring about the caller.
