Kerala CM promises non-political support for local bodies

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 6 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday promised non-politicised support for all institutions under the local bodies.
Addressing the newly elected people's representatives of the local self-governments in the state, the Chief Minister called upon them to focus on job creation and product revolution while encouraging entrepreneurship at the local level.
He said additional funds will be provided as per the recommendation of the Finance Commission. The possibility of online Gram Sabha for expatriates should be explored for the participation of the large pravasi community from Kerala.

The government has announced plans to create five jobs per 1,000 people. To make this a success, each institution must develop a separate plan. Agriculture can create a large number of jobs. All legal assistance should be given to those who come to start small and large enterprises.
Entrepreneurs should not be discouraged from going to the local government office. Entrepreneurs' problems should be addressed and resolved. Interventions should be made to create an industry-friendly environment.
Marketing facilities should be provided for the products of small scale producers. The support and cooperation of cooperative societies should be ensured in this regard.

The Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme is progressing successfully in the State. The maximum number of working days should be created in the months before the onset of monsoon.

The policy of the government is that no one should go hungry in our state. The distribution of the free ration kits and the opening of low-cost hotels are meant to achieve this goal. This system needs to be further strengthened. The Subhiksha Kerala scheme for achieving food self-sufficiency should be implemented more vigorously.

The vigilance against corruption must continue. A system involving agencies outside the government is being considered to ensure the quality of construction work.

The Government has implemented a scheme of formulation of plans starting from November and December, completion in March and implementation on April 1. The benefits of 12 months of project management are enormous. This achievement must be maintained.
The implementation of the annual plan for the year 2021-22 should also start on April 1. This government has increased the budget allocation given to local bodies from 23% to 25. Apart from this, more funds are being transferred from the Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund also.

The new governing bodies should pay special attention in undertaking joint projects prepared by the District Planning Committees. Develop a partnership that goes beyond party politics in terms of development. Welfare and development programmes should be implemented at all levels as people need more relief. This would help in winning the trust of the people.
