LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said here on Tuesday that the vaccination drive in the state should be conducted as per the sequence and priority set by the Centre without any favouritism.
After the statewide dry run for Covid-19 vaccination, the CM spoke to senior state officials, including divisional commissioners, DMs and district police chiefs through video-conferencing on Tuesday evening While reiterating that no kind of ‘source’ or ‘recommendation’ should be taken into consideration when listing people for vaccination, the chief minister stated that all steps must be taken to counter any kind of rumours, fake news and misinformation around the coronavirus vaccination in the strictest possible way.
Run vaccine drive seamlessly, says Yogi
No leverage or priority should be given to anyone irrespective of their social status in the order of selection for vaccination,” he told officials and also advised them to draw an effective communication strategy to counter misinformation around the vaccine programme.
Thanking the scientific community in the country for developing vaccines against the pandemic virus, the CM told district officials that the ball was now in their court to run and implement the vaccination programme seamlessly. “Cold chain is the backbone of the campaign even though every stage is crucial for effective and flawless implementation of the programme. There is no room for any lapse on any count,” he told the officials.
ACS, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad, said that as per the final list, 9 lakh health workers in government and private sector will get the Covid-19 vaccine in the first phase. For this, 3,000 sessions would be organized on 1,500 sites in a span of three days. This means that three lakh health workers would be covered per day. An additional day has been reserved to vaccinate those who missed their shots on the scheduled day.
The CM directed district officials to ensure that Covid-19 centres and help desks continue to work as usual even after the vaccination programme. As on date, there are 65,000 Covid-19 help desks in the state which aid the process of screening and surveillance. The CM also told officials to continue awareness activities around Covid-19 appropriate behavior besides ensuring that patient care services and infrastructure is in place.
