Ten teachers test Covid +ve,  7 schools closed in K'taka

Hassan, Jan 6 (UNI) As many as 10 Teachers have tested positive and seven Schools were closed after Schools were reopened in Hassan district.

According to Hassan DDPI Prakash, as many as ten primary school teachers tested positive in the district.

Following the coronavirus infection among teachers , schools in Holenarasipura (2), Hassan (2), Channarayapatana (3) were closed. All the teachers are taking treatment in their houses. All the schools in the district continued to be sanitized every day, he added.

According to a Mangaluru report,two teachers from Government Higher Primary School were among the 44 who tested positive for COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada .

Sulia Block Education Officer H D Mahadev said that the two teachers from Balapa and Subrahmanya, respectively, had undergone RT-PCR test before reopening of classes on January 1. Pending result, the Teacher in the Balapa school took classes for students of Classes 6 and 7, while the teacher from Subrahmanya stayed away from school. The Health Department personnel informed the two teachers that their results were found positive for COVID-19. Both the teachers were asymptomatic and they are under home quarantine.

Mr Mahadev said that action has been taken to do RT-PCR test for all students in Balapa. The school will remain closed for 17 days, he added.
