Passenger suffers epileptic attack at airport, refused journey

Chennai, Jan 6 (UNI) A 36-year-old man, who was among the
93 passengers on board the Thiruvananthapuram-bound Indigo
Airlines flight, was refused to board the aircraft after he suffered
an epileptic attack at the airport here today.
Airport sources, the passenger, a native of Kerala, was refused
to goahead with the journey citing rule books.
During security checks, the 36-year-old passenger suddenly fell
unconscious. He was taken to a hospital in the airport where
doctors said he has suffered an epilpetic attack.
He regained consciousness a little while later and came again for
the security checks stating that he would go to his Kerala and take
treatment there.
By the time he came, the security checks of all the other passengers
had been completed and that those suffering from epileptic attack
could not be allowed to travel alone.
The airport authorities also cited the rules to drive home their point,
cancelled his journey and offloaded him.
The flight later left for Thiruvananthapuram at 0915 hrs with the
remaining 92 passengers.
