Over half of Germans regularly back up their smartphone data - survey

Over half (55%) of Germans regularly back up their smartphone data, either in the cloud (31%) or on external data storage devices (27%), according to a survey conducted by digital association Bitkom. Under half (43%) of the respondents have installed a virus protection programme on their smartphone. One in six (16%) covers the smartphone's camera and 13 percent use a so-called password-safe for the secure management of passwords on their smartphone.
