Far Cry 6’s release date has surfaced on Amazon India. While Ubisoft has yet to reveal a Far Cry 6 release date, Amazon India already has one — and it’s in line with recent retail leaks. According to a listing on the retailer spotted by IGN India, Far Cry 6 has a April 30, 2021 release date. This is in line with a recent report from NME citing Dutch retailer Proxis that also had the same date.
That said, we reached out to multiple retailers in the country and none of them have been given a date for the game yet, making Amazon India’s listing seem odd. Previously, a May 25, 2021 date was present on the Microsoft Store. We have reached out to Ubisoft and its India distributor E-xpress for comment and will update this story if we hear from them.
Previously, Far Cry 6 was slated for a February 18 release. However due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic Ubisoft delayed the game to ensure “the wellbeing of [its] teams” and the extra time would allow it to be a title that you’d “aspire to play”.
At the moment, details on Far Cry 6 are few and far between other than its marketing focusing heavily on The Mandalorian’s Giancarlo Esposito. It’s narrative seems rife with political themes like past Far Cry entries.
