MUMBAI: Kundali Bhagya is one of the most successful shows on television and has topped the TRP charts since it hit the screens.
The leads of the show, Shraddha and Dheeraj, are loved as an on-screen couple, and their characters have become household names.
The character of Preeta is a very loved and celebrated character, and the common man connects with her.
Before Shraddha Arya was finalised for the show though, a few actresses were offered it but refused.

1. Sanaya Irani
Sanaya refused the role as she wanted to come back with a different character and not something similar to the usual television roles.
2. Sara Khan
Sara did not take up the role as she was doing too many shows at that time and couldn’t give dates for this serial.
3. Tina Dutta
Tina had also auditioned for the role of Preeta and everything was almost finalized, but then, at the last moment, the makers changed their mind; the reason is still unknown.
4. Rati Pandey
Rati refused the role as she felt it was too much pressure. The serial is a spin-off of the most successful show on television KumKum Bhagya, and she didn’t know whether she would be able to do justice to the character.
5. Ankita Lokhande
Ankita refused to the role as she didn’t want to make a comeback on television. She is pursuing her career in Bollywood and wanted to focus on that, though the makers wanted her to play the role of Preeta considering how well she had played Archana in Pavitra Rishta.
Well, finally the makers singed Shraddha Arya for the role of Preeta, which has turned out to be an iconic character.
Fans have commented saying that no one could have done justice to the role the way has, and Shraddha is the perfect choice for it.
