The passing moment - the clock of life

Dr Ranbir Laishram *

Sitting in my drawing room,
And looking at the second hand,
On the wall clock,
That never takes rest,
My intuitive mind hovers around,
The clock of my life.
Life, a mystery difficult to cope with,
But with conviction,
It can be managed at one's best.
The passing moment,
The so called past, the present,
And the future, in itself,
Like the hands of the clock,
It moves and leaves a trail.
The intuitive mind says -
"If life is good,
Enjoy and cherish it.
Good moments become good memories.
If it is not good,
Endure it, see through it.
There is good in every bad,
For bad times give good lessons.
What hurts inside helps one,
To be reborn stronger and wiser.
One can use it as a stepping stone,
For future endeavour.
Try not to dwell in it further".
Past times -
The good and the bad.
Yes, everybody accomplishes.
However, only few enjoy the nostalgic memories.
Most humans dwell on,
The painful memories of the past;
The heaviest to carry,
And easiest to recall,
Spoiling the present moment.
It is easy to say -
"Let it go; don't dwell on it
Never let yourself down by small setbacks .
But, to shake them out,
Requires courage and effort.
Future moments,
Unseen and unexplored.
Balancing our thoughts of the past,
The present, and the future,
Let our dream be big, goals set.
Let the inner self believe,
That better days are coming.
With a firm stand and deep breath,
Let us start living in the present moment,
And work hard for a better tomorrow.
