Modi to inaugurate New Rewari-New Madar section of WDFC

Ajmer, Jan 6 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate New Rewari-New Madar section of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) via video-conferencing on Thursday.

He will dedicate 306-km New Rewari-New Madar section of the WDFC to the nation at 1100 hrs, as per Prime Minister's Office.

Mr Modi will also flag off the world's first double-stack long-haul 1.5-km-long container train hauled by electric traction from New Ateli-New Kishangarh.

Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Ajmer MP Bhagirath Chaudhary and Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari will also join in the event.

Work for the track commenced on December 27, 2019.
