AR intercepts smuggled textile products

Imphal, January 05 2021: Troops of Assam Rifles intercepted a pickup van while moving towards Imphal at Tengnoupal, carrying textile products worth Rs 7.53 lakh at around 7.30 pm yesterday.

A press release issued by IGAR (S) said that large consignment of textiles products such as blankets, sweaters, inner wear, school bags, kit bags, caps and floor mats were recovered on scrutinizing the vehicle.

The recovered items along with the detainees have been handed over to customs dept for further investigations, it added.
