Sourav Ganguly To Stay In Hospital One More Day, Hospital Says His Decision

Sourav Ganguly, former India captain and current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, has decided to stay in the hospital for another day. Ganguly was admitted to Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata on January 2 after complaining of discomfort in his chest. The former India skipper underwent an angioplasty on the same day and showed signs of improvement. Ganguly was expected to be discharged from the hospital but the 48-year-old has wished to stay in the hospital for another day. 

The hospital staff on Wednesday, told NDTV that it was Ganguly's own decision to stay back at the hospital for another day. 

The medical board of the hospital met at 11:30 am on Monday with some specialist doctors joining on video-calling platform Zoom to review Ganguly's medical records and his clinical condition.

"The unanimous decision was that an appropriate timely excellent treatment of primary PTCA with revascularisation of RCA was rendered during the acute heart attack stage," a medical bulletin released by the hospital read. 

The bulletin also mentioned that doctors treating Ganguly will be keeping constant vigil on his health situation and appropriate measures will be taken at home once the former captain is discharged from the hospital.
