CHENNAI: Home minister Amit Shah would visit Chennai on January 14 to take part in the anniversary of the Thuglak magazine organized by its editor and RSS ideologue S Gurumurthy. His visit, second within a span of two months, has gained a lot of significance as the elections are nearing.
Senior BJP leaders said that his visit would help the party to iron out differences with their ally AIADMK. He is expected to meet state-level leaders of the party's Tamil Nadu unit and give a "working direction" for the assembly polls and end the uncertainty over the alliance. "We have received calls from Amit Shah's office, seeking details on the present political scenario in the state. We are expecting a kind of clear direction for the assembly polls during his visit," said a state-level leader.
