The 54-year old William Scott Goldberg or Bill Goldberg as he is popularly known as, made a surprise return to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) ring on Monday Night RAW, in the first event of the year 2021.

Golberg, who has been part of the WWE Hall of Fame, gatecrashed the younger WWE superstar Drew McIntyre's championship run and challenged him for the WWE Championship. 

McIntyre retained his title after beating Keith Lee in the Legends Night edition of the RAW on Monday.

Goldberg announced himself on the RAW stage by accusing McIntyre of underestimating the Legends of WWE, who have had come and won championships before him and then said that he had no demands but just wanted to challenge McIntyre for the title at WWE Royal Rumble. McIntyre refuting the allegations said that fighting Goldberg will be like fighting with his dad.

McIntyre was thrown to the mat by Goldberg subsequently, before an interruption in the feed after McIntyre punced right back at Goldberg.

The two will take on in the pay-per-view clash, which will air on January 31, live from Florida.

Twitter, on the other hand, was delighted with the news and couldn't hold their excitement, seeing Goldberg back in the Wrestling ring and challenging the champion McIntyre for the championship.
