Repair temporary market shed: Vendors

Vendors of Khwairamband Keithel temporary market have appealed to Chief Minister N Biren Singh to repair the market's shed on or before February 10.Briefing media persons at the market today, one of the vendors, Wahengbam Luwang Leima said that due measures have been taken up to open Khwairamband Keithel from the middle of February, however, the State Government seems to be ignoring the temporary market.
Asserting that every vendor of the Khwairamband Keithel including the vendors of the temporary market pay an equal amount of tax to the Government, she added that the Government, however, seems to be concerned only about the convenience of the three Khwairamband Keithel.
Khwiramband Keithel has been closed since late March of 2020 and since then the vendors are going through great difficulties to make ends meet, Luwang Leima said and expressed disappointment to the Government for giving step motherly treatment to them.
Further stating that the three Khwairamband Keithel will likely be opened by February 15, she urged the Government to repair the market sheds within the stipulated deadline for all vendors to resume their business simultaneously.
She also appealed to Chief Minister N Biren to inspect the temporary market too when visiting the Khwairamband Keithel.
Agitation will be launched if the demand is not entertained, she added.
