JD(U) seeks explanation from MLA for controversial statement

Patna, Jan 05 (UNI) Taking serious cognizance of a controversial statement of Gopalpur MLA Gopal Mandal, the top leadership of the ruling JD(U) in Bihar has sought an explanation from the lawmaker.



JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said here today that the party leadership has taken note of the Mr Gopal Mandal's statement claiming that the BJP candidate from Bhagalpur Rohit Pandey was defeated in the Assembly election because of him.

A viral video showed Mr Mandal stating that he didn't campaign for Rohit Pandey because of his autocratic attitude which led to his defeat.

In the video Mr Mandal was also seen claiming that Pirpati, Kahalgaon, Sultanganj and Bihpur candidates won as he campaigned for them.

Meanwhile another video showed Mr Mandal dancing with performers in an orchestra party, putting him in a tight spot.

Mr Prasad said that an action would be initiated against Mr Mandal after receiving his explanation.
