HCL Tech rallies to record high on completing the acquisition of Australia-based DWS

The company had announced its intention to acquire DWS last year in September.

HCL Technologies on Tuesday informed exchanges that the company has completed the acquisition of DWS Limited, a company incorporated in Australia.

HCL Tech in its regulatory filing today said, "We would like to inform you that the aforesaid acquisition has been completed effective January 5, 2021."

At around 2.45 pm, HCL Tech was trading at Rs988.85 per piece up Rs9.30  or 0.99% on Sensex. the stock has hit a 52-week high of Rs995.35 per piece in early deals.

DWS, with over 700 employees and offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Canberra, delivers business and technology innovation to large clients across a spectrum of verticals.

The DWS Group, with FY20 revenue at A$ 167.9 million, provides a wide range of IT services including Digital Transformation, Application development & support, Program & Project Management and Consulting.

In September last year, HCL Tech stated that the acquisition of DWS to strongly enhance HCL’s contribution to Digital initiatives in Australia and New Zealand while strengthening HCL’s client portfolio across key industries.

HCL currently employs 1600 people in major cities, including Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. HCL has been delivering ground-breaking technology solutions to some of the region’s largest companies and looks forward to strengthening its unique delivery model and differentiated offerings in the region.
