SC upholds Central Vista re-development project, gives conditional clearance
The Supreme Court on Tuesday pronounced its verdict on the petitions challenging the validity of the Centre's plan for the redevelopment of the Central Vista area. The top court upheld the Centra Vista project, including the new Parliament building, with certain conditions. The court said that the Centre has proper paperwork and gave its go-ahead. A three-judge Supreme Court bench, by 2 to 1 majority, allowed project to go on but with several riders like clearances from Heritage Conservation Committee.
