Officials foil child marriage attempts

Thoubal, January 04 2021:
Child Marriage Officer, Childline and district police Thoubal foiled two child marriage attempts in Thoubal district, today.
Speaking to media persons, Reena Chanu Moirangthem, Child Marriage Prohibition Officer, stated that the guardians of the children have been advised on child marriage issues.
Till date, about 40 such attempts have been foiled in Thoubal alone, which is highest among the districts in Manipur, she said and appealed all to discourage child marriage, which is against the law, at their capacity.
