Vodafone Germany sees fixed network data traffic increase on New Year due to Covid-19 restrictions

Vodafone Germany said that on New Year's Eve, 16,000 terabytes of data went through its fixed network, up almost 50 percent compared with the same period last year, Deutsche Presse Agentur reports. This is the result of restrictions imposed to halt the spread of the coronavirus. Data traffic has been growing for years, among other things driven by the use of applications, and communication through high-resolution photos and videos.
