Rostelecom completes digital divide project in Bashkortostan

Russian national operator Rostelecom has completed work under the federal programme to eliminate the digital divide in villages in the Republic of Bashkortostan. In 2020, it provided public Wi-Fi in 98 villages, deploying 476 km of fibre-optic lines for this purpose. Since the scheme started in 2014, public hotspots have become available in 929 villages with 250 to 500 residents. It has laid 1,046 km of fibre-optic lines and covered more than 330,000 residents.
