
Wall Street's main indexes gained on Tuesday as investors waited for the outcome of Georgia's Senate runoff elections, which are expected to determine the balance of power in Washington.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 146.50 points, or 0.48%, at the open to 30,370.39.
The S&P 500 opened 16.63 points higher, or 0.45%, at 3,717.46, while the Nasdaq Composite added 63.80 points, or 0.50%, to 12,761.48 at the opening bell.
