Jamia Millia Islamia lists steps to hold online open-book exam

NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia has decided to cancel its plans to hold an online proctored exam and issued guidelines for conducting online open-book exam due in mid-January. In a notice on Monday, the university stated that, according to its academic council meeting on December 30, the exam would be conducted for students of odd semester.
The link to appear for the exam will only be available at students' portal, who will be allowed to take the test from their chosen place and not be required to visit the campus.
Unlike the proctored exam, students will be allowed to use smartphones, laptops and PCs, the guidelines said.
The guidelines are similar to the ones issued by Delhi University for its online exam, where students were advised to log in at their portal at least 30 minutes in advance to avoid last-minute hurry, and in case of internet trouble, could ask their teachers for the question papers.
