The MTDC or Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation will build a convention centre near the boat club to attract corporate companies and also boost tourism. The all new state-of-the art convention centre will be erected near the boat club at the Gangapur dam — on the outskirts of the Nashik city.
The MTDC has recently initiated the plan and have engaged in creating the convention that is expected to have a seating capacity of 1,000 people and corporate events like training, conference or even small exhibitions can be planned there. This project, is being constructed on an area of around eight acre, is estimated to cost Rs 9 crore.
According to MTDC, the construction of the centre will be completed by March-end this year and it will be inaugurated after getting all the necessary permissions.
On this occasion Mahesh Bagul, an MTDC official mentioned that the construction works have begun already and around 60% of the work is completed. It is however expected that rest of the construction work will be over by March-end and in some three months’ time the interior works will be completed as well. And if the work progresses as planned, the convention centre will be inaugurated by June-end.
