New Delhi, Jan 5 (UNI) The Centre is prepared to roll out COVID-19 vaccine within 10 days from the date of emergency use authorisation, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.

The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on Sunday had approved the emergency use of Bharat Biotech's indigenously manufactured Corona vaccine 'Covaxin' and 'Covishield,' manufactured by the Serum Institute of India, Pune.

'Based on the feedback of dry-run, we are prepared to roll out vaccine within 10 days of emergency use authorisation approvals. The final decision will be taken by the government,' Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said at a press briefing here.

He said at present, there are four primary vaccine stores called the Government Medical Store Depot (GMSD) in the country, which are in Karnal, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Moreover, there are 37 vaccine stores in the country, which store vaccines in bulk and distribute them further.
