Block level awareness and motivation programme / cycle rally held

Thoubal, January 03 2021: The Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee, Thoubal district under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, organized a Cycle rally and Block Level awareness and motivation programme on "Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse" at various places of Thoubal district, today.

A Cycle rally campaign on "Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse" was organized at Thoubal Sabaltongba Bazar in collaboration with Democratic Youth Development Organisation, Thoubal Sabaltongba Mayai Leikai.

Many youths, students and local villagers participated in the rally by carrying various placards on Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign.

While conforming to the Standard Operating Procedures for COVID-19 protection as mandate by the State Government, an awareness programme was also jointly organized by Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee, Thoubal district and Health and Wellness Centre, Chaobok at Chaobok Kabui Women Society Building in Thoubal district.

Ibotombi Singh, Councillor ward no 13 Thoubal Sabaltongba; Arambam Kameshwar Singh, DSWO, Thoubal; Y Laxman Singh, member NMBCC; W Hemabati, Health Supervisor and S Asha, EO (WP) attended the programme as presidium members.

Representatives of the Kabui and Muslim communities participated in the programme where experts attending the programme spoke on the role of parents, friends circle and society in the prevention of drugs.

Similarly, a Block Level awareness and motivation programme was held at Chingkham Makha by Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee, Thoubal district in collaboration with Anti Social Elements Prevention and Youth's Development Organisation.

Md Idris Ali, Pradhan Turel Ahanbi Atoukhong GP; Arambam Kameshwar Singh, DSWO, Thoubal; Y Laxman Singh, member NMBCC; Md Riaj Khan, OC Lilong PS; Md Zamilur Rahaman, SDC Lilong; Md Abit Hussain, Secy ALADA attended the programme as presidium members.

As a part of the programme, orations were delivered on how to fight collectively to reduce the demand and supply of drugs in the district.
