ISL2020-21 Top Goal No.1: Roy Krishna- ATKMB vs NorthEast United FC
Time and again for ATK Mohun Bagan, Roy Krishna has provided the vital breakthroughs. Interestingly, all his six goals this season have come in the second half, with only one among them coming in a losing cause.
One chance is all that he needs to make the opposition pay. That chance came at the start of the second half, when he managed to slip away from his marker, Khassa Camara, to nod home the knock on from Tiri to put ATKMB ahead. The shot was his only effort on target the whole game, making it the fourth such instance he has done that this season.
ISL2020-21 Top Goal No. 2: Crivellaro- Chennaiyin FC vs FC Goa
Rafael Crivellaro bagged his first goal of the Indian Super League (ISL 2020-21) in style as he scored directly from a corner kick during the 2-1 win over FC Goa. This is also the third time in ISL history that a goal has been directly scored from a corner.
Brazilian Crivellaro tested Nawaz once again from a corner in the 11th minute and the ‘keeper was alert to clear the danger. Chennaiyin’s lead lasted only four minutes as Jorge Ortiz Mendoza struck in the ninth minute to bring FC Goa back on level terms.
Rahim Ali eventually won the game for Chennaiyin as his second-half strike saw his side claim its second victory of the season.
ISL 2020-21 Top Goal No. 3: Vignesh Dakshinamurthy- Mumbai City FC vs Hyderabad FC
Vignesh Dakshinamurthy scored a wondergoal to help Mumbai City FC end Hyderabad FC’s unbeaten run. In a match that saw both sides struggle to create clear-cut chances, Vignesh’s acrobatic 38th-minute strike stood out as a genuine moment of quality. Adam Le Fondre put Sergio Lobera’s men further ahead in the 59th minute as Hyderabad tasted their first defeat of the season.
ISL 2020-21 Top Goal No. 4: David Williams- ATKMB vs Bengaluru FC
Williams shrugged off his indifferent form this season with a peach of the goal to give ATK Mohun Bagan (ATKMB) a 1-0 win over Bengaluru FC (BFC) at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa.
The Australian’s decisive strike came just after the half hour mark when he expertly controlled defensive midfielder Carl McHugh’s long ball before cutting in and creaming one into the top-right corner from just outside the penalty box.
ISL 2020-21 Top Goal No. 5: Cole Alexander-Odisha FC vs NorthEast United
A shot which looks an exact photocopy of the iconic David Beckham curler, Odisha FC’s Cole Alexanders lit up the ISL 2020-21 season with an impeccable finish. The team’s standings wouldn’t do justice to the brand of football Odisha FC played, but Cole Alexander’s curler will be remembered by fans and pundits alike.
In the game, the Highlanders took the lead in the 65th minute through a Kwesi Appiah penalty, but Cole saved Odisha’s blushes to guarantee a point with his peach of a finish.
