Gangster Chhota Rajan and three others were sentenced to two years imprisonment in an extortion case by the Mumbai Sessions Court on Monday.

The case pertains to Rajan threatening Nandu Wajekar, a Panvel-based builder and seeking Rs 26 crore as extortion money from him. Wajekar had bought land in Pune in 2015 and had to pay Rs 2 crore as commission to an agent Parmanand Thakkar. Wajekar, however, refused to pay and Thakkar then approached Rajan. Rajan’s men then threatened Wajekar and sought the extortion money from him.
