COVID-19 vaccination dry run in UP from Tuesday

Lucknow, Jan 4 (UNI) Directing to conduct Covid vaccination work as per the guidelines of the Centre, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the dry run across the state on Tuesday should be taken earnestly as the exercise will help take up actual vaccination smoothly and in an organised manner.

Presiding over a high-level unlock review meeting at his official residence on Monday, he said that starting from the first phase, the vaccination should be taken up in adherence to the Centre's guidelines.

He said that all the preparatory work with regards to vaccination is in the progress in the districts and it should be reviewed properly. He directed to ensure safe storage of vaccines, maintenance of cold chain and smooth transportation.

Further instructing to conduct Covid testing to the full capacity, the Chief Minister asked to ensure that 1.5 lakh tests are taken place daily. He also put emphasis on the effective mechanism of contact tracing and surveillance system.

Reiterating that the Integrated Command and Control Centres (ICCC) should remain active at district level, he said that all the DMs and CMOs should continue to hold their morning meetings in Covid hospital and evening meetings at Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC).

The Chief Minister said that the effective treatment and protection system should remain maintained with all the precautions in place. He said that awareness about the social distancing and use of masks for protection from Covid should be created through various modes of communication including public address system. He also asked to maintain proper arrangements in the Covid hospitals.
