Telenor Norway says Snapchat dominates New Year's Eve messaging in 2020

Telenor Norway said its customers sent 14.7 million text messages on New Year's Eve 2020, up from 14.0 million SMS on the same day in 2019. Snapchat dominated messaging on 31 December for the fifth year in a row and TikTok saw a downturn in traffic. The operator said coronavirus prevented large gatherings to greet the New Year this time, and people sent their good wishes digitally instead.
