Financial aid extended to fire victims of Charoi Tupul

Noney, January 03 2021:
Dipu Gangmei, IAS ADM Ukhrul, & Lanphulung Kamei, social worker and intending ADC candidate Longmai (Noney) segment, visited the fire victim families yesterday at Charoi Tupul & extended financial assistance & relief materials.
They also extended financial assistance for the two Churches of Tupul Judaism and SDA Church & also gave assurance to construct the agricultural road of the Village.
It may be mentioned that in the evening of January 1, at around 6:30 pm, when all the Villagers went to Church to celebrate the New year night program, the houses of two joint families namely KL Joel s/o.late Dingongpou Kamei & Adaini (Rubin) Kamei, s/o Joel Kamei, were completely burnt to the ground in a fire that originated from an electric short circuit.
The local youths & the Jawaan of 10 AR Tupul outpost Noney Battalion doused the fire and prevented spreading of the fire to adjoining houses.
It may be recall that on 9th April 2013, more than 10 shops at Noney were completely burned to the ground in a similar incident after which local MLA Gaikhangam, who was holding the post of Home Minister at that time had assured that a Fire Brigade will be stationed in Noney but it has not yet materialised.
The locals sought attention of the Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh in this regard.
