TDP leader and former sarpanch Puramsetti Ankulu was murdered in Dachepalli town of Guntur district on Sunday. His dead body was found at an under-construction apartment with his neck slit.
His neck was slit with a knife, which resulted in the death.
TDP has accused ruling YSRCP for the murder and opposition leaders held a protest accusing police for working under the pressure of the ruling party.
According to ANI, TDP leaders had a verbal brawl with the police after the incident. They also raised slogans against the police.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem and an investigation has been launched.
