
The Dow kicked off 2021 on a muted note on Monday, as the rally that was built on hopes of a vaccine-driven recovery in the global economy faded.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 55.0 points, or 0.18%, at the open to 30,550.59, while the S&P 500 was trading flat, up 0.5 points, or 0.01%, at the open at 3,756.55.
The Nasdaq Composite rose 8.63 points, or 0.06%, to 12,896.92 at the opening bell.
