With a target to showcase adventure tourism and maintaining the new tourism policy at the same time, at Tajangi reservoir near Lammasingi in Visakhapatnam district, different adventure activities have been planned.
At present, visitors can explore zip lining all over the reservoir and trampoline put up by Integrated Tribal Development Agency. In a month or two, paramotoring, bungee jumping and boating and other adventure sports will be included.
While sharing his views to TOI, Chetti Shankar Rao, the chairman of Tajangi Res ervoir Adventure Tourism Association said, “Already ITDA has given permission for paramotoring, for which trials have also been completed. It is expected to start soon. Boating, both speed and paddle boats, are supposed to operate from this month. Another activity, bungee jumping, is also in the pipe line.”
In December 2019, zip lining was introduced and has turned out to be immensely popular. Almost 200 to 250 tickets are sold every day, as per the adventure activity organizers. All priced at Rs. 200 while trampoline tickets cost Rs. 20 each. “It is done at a height of around 60 feet from the ground and the activity lasts for 30 to 45 seconds depending on the weight of the individual. We need more staff for operating the zip line given the demand.
Also, other upcoming adventure activities will also require more staff to be employed,” added Rao.
