Thoubal DC sounds African swine fever alert

Thoubal, January 02 2021: Thoubal DC N Bandana Devi has declared Kangyambem, Lokchao and Salungpham Mamang Leikai (Latitude 24.61 and Longitude 94.9) under Thoubal district as control areas for African swine fever with immediate effect.

The order mentioned that no pig shall be moved from the place where it is kept within the controlled areas and imposed a ban on selling of pig, pork, feed and related items.

Any person/institution/organisation found violating the containment measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under "The Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act 2009," the DC informed.
