Owaisi visits Furfura Sharif in Hooghly district

Kolkata, Jan 03 (UNI) All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin
Owaisi on Sunday paid a visit to Furfura Sharif in Hooghly district, a noted religious
shrine of Bengali Muslims and assured Abbas Siddique, the Peerzada and secretary
of Furfura Sharif, that his party would stand by him in the coming times.
He iterated that his party would stand by whatever decision Abbas Siddique takes.
The meeting assumed significance ahead of 2021 West Bengal Assembly election.
The TMC leadership, however, hasn't attached much importance to the meeting.
TMC Lok Sabha MP Saugata Roy said Owasi was well aware that he could not be
a factor as Urdu speaking Muslims in the State were not in a sizeable number.
