COVID-19: US registers record 277k cases in 24 hrs

Washington, Jan 3 (UNI) The United States registered 277,000 cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, clocking in the record number of cases in one day, the latest update released on Saturday said.

US remains the worst-hit country in the world by the pandemic, marking 20.4 million cases overall and just under 350,000 deaths till date.

As the pandemic keeps on growing at a faster pace than ever, top US government scientist on infectious diseases Dr Anthony Fauci has warned that the worst of the pandemic may be yet to come.

January first saw the US surpassing the 20 million COVID-19 cases.
